MONUMENTAL INTENTIONS is a 28 ft x 4 ft- 6 ft Venetian glass mosaic displaying the mountains and cityscape of Denver, CO. This attention-grabbing installation proved a different kind of artistic challenge for Akinlana. He and his team of six spent months over a low table and cut every piece of glass one by one by hand. It was months of long hours but the end result is a captivating scene of both the natural beauty of the area and the beauty of the architecture the people of Denver have made their own. It serves as a testament to Akinlana's well-roundedness as an artist. This piece is located in the Denver Performing Arts Complex, where it continues to inspire the talent of the city. Commissioned by the Mayor’s Office of Art and Culture.
