THE THRONE OF THE SECOND COMING OF THE AFRICAN REVIVAL is a mural representing a traditional African aesthetic. The acrylic image is painted on a bench to invite the audience to immerse themselves in a visual of beauty and power. This throne, a symbol of royalty, stands as a reminder to the people of the area of the beauty of the historical power of African people and their descendants, and the imminent reemergence of the strength and beauty of our culture. THE THRONE OF THE SECOND COMING OF THE AFRICAN REVIVAL was located at Navy Pier and was commissioned by the Department of Cultural Affairs, Chicago.
